Ok all...just so you know..the panel went great. Not a huge attendance but it was good. However that was only the beginning of the fun!
I left on such a high! OMG! I got to network a little bit with two authors.
One was Keith DeCandido. When I first started talking to Keith I thought he was just a vendor who happened to be selling a book I had, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Watcher's Guide". Two after I realized that yes he was a vendor selling books but about all the books he was selling were ones he'd written...well only later did I realize he was one of the cons featured authors. He was also on a lot of panels I attended about writing. His full name is Keith R. A. Candido. You can check out his info here. He wrote the Buffy book "Blackout."
The other author I spoke to a lot is a friend of TammyJo's Eckhart, Stephen Zimmer. He' has 3 published urban fantasy novels and has directed some independent horror films. Here's a website with more info on him.
Plus, I also got this great new belly dance outfit made for me at quite a deal. I bought the skirt and the choli, the kuchi which is the bit of bangle dangling off the choli and two bracelets with bells at the con.
So...I felt exhausted and yet re-energized. I'd socialized with authors, listened to their stories and advice and attended writing panels. I shopped. I geeked out. My panel went well and I have ideas for next year.
It really helped me rev up for writing. So coming back I went from 217 pages in DI to just finishing up 234! Slowly but surely I'm getting there. So..the sooner I finish DI the sooner I get back to Sneer. :)
Thanks for all the positive vibes!
